WE'RE BACK!!!

27 Jan 2021 Sarah Rose

I think we can all say AMEN when it comes to wishing 2020 good riddance!

Although we are not fully out of the woods completely, we still can praise God for allowing us to see a new year. For those who lost loved ones, our hearts go out to you and we pray that the Lord grants you peace within your soul and guidance for you and your familes.

We do not know what the future will hold, but we are truly blessed that Australia as a whole is able to get out and enjoy what is left of this summer, and to finally hug or elbow bump people to our hearts content. Yes yes, I know that santizing our hands until they are dry like the sahara desert and wearing a somewhat suffocating mask isn't fun, but we must praise God for the small blessings.

I pray that this new year brings about new opportunities for you to see the Lord working in your life. Remember that even though your journey with the Lord may not be perfect, or in some cases, to your liking. Keep in mind that your journey is still far from over. God is making a way, just like He has done before, just like He is doing now, and just like how He will do it for you in the future.

Keep the faith my brothers and sisters and we hope that you keep us in your prayers and you are in ours.

West Melbourne Help

12 Jun 2020 Sarah Rose

The coronavirus is a deadly disease that is not only affecting people physically but is also placing heavy financial and emotional strain on millions of people worldwide. Looking closer to home, many individuals in West Melbourne have lost their jobs and are unable to access help from Centrelink. Numerous individuals, families and international students are struggling to not only find new jobs but to put food on the table and simply get by for the week.

The desire to help these people in need led to the creation of West Melbourne Help. This charity organisation operates by raising money to purchase fruit/vegetables and other groceries for people in West Melbourne who have been the hardest hit by this pandemic. Spotswood Church along with other SDA Churches have partnered with Northpoint Centre Food Bank to buy, collect, pack, and deliver these goods to members of the West Melbourne community.

Please, if you can, donate to this amazing charity whether it be via money or food donations, your support is greatly needed and appreciated.

As a member of this church it makes me so proud to know that Victoria and Lydia have taken up this mantle and are on the “front lines” supporting those in need. You women are amazing! I pray that in the same way you are supporting others, that Spotswood Church is able to support you.

For more information on how to donate/support please contact them on: Victoria – [email protected]; Mob: 0414 172 372, or you can visit the Facebook page here.

Creation Ministries

10 Jun 2020 Sarah Rose

COVID-19 has definitely turned our world upside down, but just because we aren't physically together doesn't mean that we can't worship as one. Technology has really come along way, so whether you are new to on-line services, or are a computer master, we hope that people are still able to stay connected to God's word. In addition to Spotswood's own zoom church and bible study, Creation Ministries is offering free Live On-Line Events. More details can be found here.

"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." - Matthew 18:20 KJV

What is a LIVE ONLINE EVENT?
Interactive webinars – Our speakers will deliver presentations live to your church, either to the Audio/Visual system or to individuals.

Why a LIVE ONLINE EVENT?
You will be able to interact with the speaker, introducing him, seeing him, the presentation and everyone else who is attending remotely (via personal devices). Q&A can be conducted at the end, with people in the congregation or those joining remotely asking questions.

This is different to a webcast: A webcast is a larger, less personal online meeting, where only the presenter contributes audibly. Webcasting does not allow you to see those attending remotely.

What do I need?
A computer and an internet connection.

What platform do you use?
Zoom. If using a computer browser, no extra software is needed. (CMI has paid for a professional licence so you do not need to pay anything).

Can my church members attend on their phones/iPads/tablets?
Yes. When they click the URL provided, they will be prompted to download the App, and they will immediately enter the meeting.

A great option
This is a great option for churches in rural and remote areas! Rather than waiting for years until a speaker is visiting your area, churches can now have speakers join their congregation at any time.

Why not book a LIVE On-line Event today?
If this is something your church would be interested in, please contact us at your earliest convenience.

eGiving

11 Apr 2020 Brian William Lawty

It is unfortunate that this virus has forced the hand of our government and governments worldwide to isolate its citizens. Social distancing is not fun for anyone, and the closure of schools, shops and workplaces has made things even more difficult.

We understand that some of you may also have been severely affected by the new regulations concerning the coronavirus, so please do not feel as though you have to give. The returning of tithes and offerings is a matter of personal faith, between you and God. However, we are not going to ask you to give if you are unable to. If anything, please let the Pastor or one of the elders know if you have run into trouble as a result of covid and we will help you.

For those who can give an online portal called, eGiving Online Donations, has been set up where you can select your church and choose which offering your tithe will be going to.

Please let us know if you or anyone else needs anything, whether it be clothes, food, nappies, hand sanitizer, or even toilet paper.

We are all in this together and by the grace of God, we will get through this.
